It all started with a dream

“I’ve taught our Physiologic Birth class to over 3500 professionals and despite overwhelmingly positive feedback, many struggle to apply what they learn. What if nurses could access a mentor on their phones, guiding them with support, recommendations, and evidence? When it became apparent that we had to make an app, I literally cried. I thought, “I know nothing about apps, who I’d need, it’s so expensive and where would we start?” I didn’t want to do it tbh. But I was seeing nurses struggling, knew the stats, that beginning with a physiologic approach to birth helps, and that we have grit. 

So, despite feeling overwhelmed like a beach full of starfish, we took a leap, risking it all to make a difference where we could. I flew in my sister (who also works for BB) to help get my brain onto paper… in the form of sticky notes (scroll for pics)!! These took over my dining room table & walls as we mapped out all of normal labor and saw the beginning of Motion begin to fall into place. Luckily, our vision was embraced by an amazing team who saw the potential to revolutionize birth care with us. We were pushed out of our comfort zones into app development, making a million pivotal decisions, learning a new tech language, software, and the creation process along the way.

Open the Motion™ app. Select the + button and follow the in-app instructions.

If you want to delete your Motion™ account and all its associated data, you can email us at [email protected].

Regardless how you upgrade, you must use your Bundlebirthnurses.com account login to sign into Motion™! If you don’t have one, you can sign up here or in the app!

To subscribe as a Game Changer there are two ways: 

  1. Right here! Scroll up to add a Game Changer subscription to your cart, follow the process to checkout using your BBN login. After you download and login with those same credentials, you should be upgraded already in your account!
  2. You can also download Motion™, use your BBN login to get in and then purchase through the app store. Keep in mind, you will pay significantly more if you do so! If you purchase through Apple, Bundle Birth cannot issue you a refund directly, and you are subject to their refund policy and terms. 

If you already have a Bundle Birth Nurses website account, you already have one! Download the app and use your login info to access your starter version of Motion™! Don’t forget to upgrade by adding Game Changer to your cart and checking out… once you refresh your app you will see your account upgraded! 

This is your free tool to help you have position options in labor! Show your patient the screen and let them decide. Not into what’s shown? Just “refresh options” to get more ideas!  

The positions shown in the position generator mimic those in our Position Guide and are based on station. The advanced position generator takes into account the cervical exam, limitations based on the FHR, whether they have an epidural or not, suture lines (assessing for asynclitism), fontanelles (assessing for deflexed head), and the position of the baby to provide position recommendations that are most likely to help labor progress.

Yes, the recommendations used to create Motion™ take into account findings, research, and data from more than 300 clinical sources, years of professional experience and expertise in labor and delivery, thoroughly tested Bundle Birth class curriculum, as well as thousands of nurses trained through our programs.

Motion™ currently isn’t designed to target triage patients… but there are questions, the labor warm up and some tools that you may find helpful. Also, they are your starfish, so you can log the patients into your patient tracker if you’d like and time allows! Up to you!

If you patient does not grant permission for you to use the app, just click “No, the patient doesn’t agree” and click to continue. You can still use the algorithm and tools, but some things will be disabled and their info will be deleted. 

Totally can! BUT if you’ve logged anything on them (used the flow, added an update, etc), it does not allow for deletion. You can instead, discontinue the patient by swiping left on their profile on your “Patients” tab or open the patient’s Labor Tracker card, scroll to the bottom to find a “close pt” button.

Absolutely, you can use this app as a midwife, resident, or doula. In fact, you will be able to use the tools inside differently and can adjust to fit your practice in a different way! We hope everyone uses it!
