Speedy Inductions is a live online workshop (with recording access) that builds directly on Physiologic Birth. We dive deep into the realities of induction of labor and show you how to apply physiologic principles so your IOL patients progress more efficiently with fewer unnecessary interventions. You will learn how common agents work, how to time and sequence them for maximum effect, and how to adapt positioning, pelvic mechanics, and hormone-supportive care to an induced labor.
Learning Objectives:
- Explain the pharmacology and clinical use of major induction and augmentation agents
- Choose positions that support rotation and descent during each IOL/labor phase, with and without an epidural
- Understand the evidence, effectiveness and strategies for each induction agent as it relates to activating labor.
- Use hormone-supportive strategies that optimize and maintain progress and patient coping, especially during longer inductions
- Strengthen patient communication and shared decision making using clear, trauma-informed language
- Learn skills to support a positive birth experience and patient satisfaction.
